Wendover Homefront Exhibit

The PX helps airmen share their journey with loved ones.

Airmen stationed at Wendover Army Air Base found themselves at this desolate post thousands of miles from loved ones. To help connect and share their journey, airmen could purchase items such as this tablecloth in the base PX (Post Exchange) and mail them home. Often referred to as “Sweetheart” items, we have a selection of these types of artifacts throughout the museum.
